RECORDING SECRETARY’S REPORT The third Membership Meeting of PCRTA was held Sept. 8, 2009 at St. John’s Lutheran
Church, Ingomar at 12:00 Noon. Fifty-four members & guests attended. Paul Ellison & Jack White were the greeters.
President Larry Russell led the Pledge of Allegiance & gave the invocation. After the creamed chicken meal, door prizes
(three $10.00 bills) were awarded to Darrell Meeks, Gene Plunkett & Ken Stryker. Also, a floral arrangement provided by
Burnett’s Florist went to Mary Lou Jackson & Barbara Musgrave chose a PCRTA shirt. At the business
meeting, the Recording Secretary’s & Treasurer’s Reports were accepted, as presented in the August 2009 Newsletter.
Other business was the election of PCRTA officers for 2010-2011, as presented by the Nominating Committee: Joyce Johnson,
Darrell Meeks & Larry Russell. Those officers to be installed at the November meeting are: President:
Phyllis White, Vice-President: Marti Eley, (Interim)Treasurer: Jack White,
Recording Secretary: Mary Jo Baker, Corresponding Secretary: Sharon Norman
Legislative Representative: George Henry, Retirement Planning: Susan Carico,

Newsletter: Cindy Ashworth Website: Dennis Parrish A motion to
accept the slate of officers was made by Bob Fox; seconded by Mary Hypes; motion passed. A collection for
the "Tools for Schools" program received funds to help defray the $314.80 cost for 2009-2010 supplies for needy
Preble County elementary students; which is provided by PCRTA members. The program will continue for the 2010-2011 school
year. Janet Burkett gave a description of "Home Schooling in Preble Co.". After a question &
answer session the group was dismissed at 1:40 PM. Recording Secretary, Mary Jo Baker Installation of 2010-2011 PCRTA Officers/Executive Board Members President Russell will ask the members present at the meeting to approve the installation
of the following members as PCRTA Chapter Officers for 2010-2011. (For the term commencing
January 1, 2010 and ending December 31, 2011) President:

Dennis Parrish Can You HELP? - We need a member to take over the position of Treasurer ASAP!!!! STRS BOARD SENDS PLAN TO ORSC The STRS
Board unanimously approved a plan to decrease their unfunded liability period and improve the long-term solvency of the pension
plan. The plan was approved at a special meeting and sent to the Ohio Retirement Study Council.
This plan would have to be approved by the ORSC and legislation would have to be passed in the Ohio Legislature to
implement the changes. The plan calls for the following changes: · Increase active member contributions by 0.5% per year, for five years,
beginning July 1, 2011 ·
Increase employer contributions by 0.5%
per year, for five years, beginning July 1, 2011 · Final average salary (FAS) calculation to be based on the five highest years of earnings,
versus the current three years, beginning August 1, 2015 · Increase years of service required for retirement beginning August 1, 2015 · Change in the benefit formula beginning August 1, 2015 · REDUCTION IN COST-OF LIVING ADJUSTMENT (COLA) BEGINNING JULY 1, 2011.
CURRENT RETIREES WOULD RECEIVE AN ANNUAL 2% COLA.
